NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP PUNCHEON AWARDS During the National Membership Luncheon held at the NAACP National Convention various awards are presented to branches and youth units producing outstanding membership increases from the previous calendar year. The following Membership Awards and their criteria are given to encourage your branch to work to qualify for the many membership awards given each year. THE LUCILLE BLACK MEMBERSHIP AWARD The National NAACP Membership Division presents the Lucille Black Membership Award at the National Convention Membership Luncheon to the branches, youth units, and state/area conference which produce the highest number of memberships in the following categories. The award is given in commemoration and honor of the Association's first Membership Secretary, Lucille Black. Class IA - Branches with over 1000 members in 1990 with the highest memberships from January 1st to December 31, 1990 (Without paid personnel). Class IB - Branches with over 500 members but less than 1000 members with the highest membership from January 1st to December 31, 1990 (Without paid personnel). Class IC - Branches with 250-499 members in 1990 with the highest memberships from January 1st to December 31, 1990 (Without paid personnel). Class ID - Branches with less than 250 members with the highest memberships from January 1st to December 31, 1990 (Without paid personnel). Class II - Branches with Paid Personnel (Executive Secretaries) with the highest memberships from January 1st tc December 31, 1990. Class III - The adult State Area Conference producing the highest number of memberships from January 1st to December 31, 1990. Grand Master Award - The branch, other than the Class IA and Class II winners, who raises the highest combined total of regular, youth, life subscribing and fully paid life memberships from January 1st to December 31, 1990.
