YOUTH COMMITTEE September 14, 1985 Minutes The Youth Committee met Saturday, September 14, 1985 on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University. There were about 35 people in attendance including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Branch President, Kelly Alexander and Regional Director, Youth and College Division, Harold Blake of Atlanta. Mr. Blake, the guest speaker, emphasized that now is the time for us to be what we must be, to stand up for what we believe in and not to become complacent. He also emphasized that the way to succeed is not to worry about who gets the credit, just do the work. Kelly Alexander asked for the Youth Committee's help in the march against apartheid which will start March, 1986 in California and end in Baltimore. The Chapter President of Johnson C. Smith University, Kenneth Stowe, brought to our attention some of the functions that will be taking place on the campus of JCSU, after which Ahmad Daniels followed with a health awareness program which was very informative. The meeting was concluded by a wrap session in which everyone had a part. It was very successful and we would like to thank all the branch members for their participation. aspectively submitted, Tommy R. Bennett, Chairman, Youth Committee Dana N. Bost Secretary, Youth Committee
