Philanthropic & Charitable Donations Charles Waddell reported that the charitable organizations listed in Appendix A had received the majority of the funds donated by the Richardson Sports/Carolinas Stadium Corporation in 1995. Stadium Construction Jon Richardson informed the group that the contractors were 20 months into the 28 month project and 98% of all bids have been committed to. He reviewed the MBE Participation percentages with the group (refer to handout). Currently the percentages exceed the high end on the 10-15% stated goal for minority participation. Concessions Paul Laky of Volume Services said they continue to receive phone calls asking about concession opportunities for Carolinas Stadium. About half of the people who call follow up in writing (about 35 to date). He also informed the group that 10 of the 28 nonprofit organizations working the concessions at Clemson were minority-operated. Laky asked the group for assistance in helping them expand the pool of minority vendors and non-profit organizations. February NAACP Meeting Kelly Alexander requested that we ask Richardson Sports/Carolinas Stadium Corporation personnel to attend their February 2, 1996 Meeting in Charlotte. A special invitation was extended to Mr. William "Bill" Sims. Next Meeting Waddell will poll the group later to finalize the date of the next Fair Share Meeting. April and September of 1996 were good possibilities. The meeting was adjourned at 2:55 PM.
