Page Four c) Day Care contracted to Brandon Day Care Center on 2/11/70 - $ 2,500. This was a one-time capital improvement project to provide two additional toilet facilities to the Brandon Day Care Center, thus opening up twenty-nine (29) additional day care slots for Model Neighborhood children. d) Legal Aid contract signed on 5/28/70 with the , Legal Aid Society - $21,326. This project provides salaries and expenses for two (2) full-time employees to operate a Legal Aid Office in the Alexander Street Center. This project is not yet operational. e") Homemaker Education contract signed on 2/11/70 with the Charlotte Area Fund - $ 46,167. This project is operated in conjunction with the Mecklenburg County Home Demonstration Agency. Funds are used to provide salaries and supplies for seven (7) employees to operate a full-time Homemaker Education office in the Alexander Street Center. Five (5) are Model Neighborhood residents. f) Employment Support contract signed on 2/11/70 with the Charlotte Area Fund - $ 3 0.059. This project offers full-time employment for two (2) employment specialists and one secretary to operate on employment-placement office in the Alexander Street Center. None are MN residents. g) Community Relations Committee operated by the City of Charlotte - $ 9,300. This project will provide a community-relations committee office in the Alexander Street Center to solicit complaints concerning discrimination. Staff of two (2), one (1) being a MN resident. 3. Health Unit: Providing aggressive outreach, case- finding, health education, pre-diagnostic screening, emergency health services, and performing liaison with all health resources. Contracted on 10/22/69 to Mecklenburg County Health- Department . Original Budget $ 121,652 Revised Amount: $172,830 Monies spent as of 7/31/70: $98,763.
