Description	Advertising postcard for Lake Haven Ranch Camp in the Matthews/Mint Hill area of NC (also sometimes called Dan Hood's Ranch Camp) Opened in 1958 by directors, Dan and Avery Hood, the camp operated for around 30 years, serving thousands of children. Residential and day-campers were given a hands-on camp experience with horseback riding, swimming, archery, target practice (rifle), mechanics and farm life education. Some postcards for the camp described it thusly: "Rural retreat only five miles from Charlotte. Resident and day campers share programs based on ideals and the activities in which our nation's resourceful farm youth were nurtured."
